THE AMBASSADOR

The oldest Portuguese table wine.

Having its origin at the property “Cova da Periquita”, Periquita was the first wine to be bottled in Portugal. With the intent to avoid any interference with the quality of the wine and aiming to promote and position the brand in a prestigious level, José Maria da Fonseca decided early on to bottle his Periquita wine. The design and printing of Periquita labels was commissioned to a Parisian artist, the bottles were made in England and the corks were selected by a Catalan expert. The quality of Periquita was quickly recognized and soon became one of the most awarded wines of José Maria da Fonseca.
